Privacy policy

This policy explains what Unbot AI (unbotai.com) collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what we need to run your account and your rewrites, we never sell your data, and we don't use your text to train AI models.

What we collect

  • Account details. Your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google. Passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them.
  • The text you submit. Drafts you humanize, text you check for an AI score, and files you upload for a Turnitin check. See "Your text and files" below for how each is handled.
  • Usage records. Your word balance, how many words each rewrite used, dates, and whether Private mode was on. These records don't contain your text.
  • Payment records. Payments are handled by Whop. We receive the plan you bought, the amount, the payment status and membership IDs. We never see or store your card details.
  • Technical data. Your IP address and browser details, used to keep the service secure and to limit abuse.

Your text and files

  • Humanizing. Your text is sent to our text-processing provider to be rewritten. By default the result is saved so you can reopen it in History (we show your last 100). With Private mode on, the text isn't kept after the rewrite.
  • AI score. When you click to check a score, the text is sent to our AI-detection provider. We keep only the score, briefly, so the same check isn't charged twice.
  • Turnitin checks. Your file is stored privately and sent to our checking partner. We delete our copy of the file within about a day after the check ends (or within a day if you never start the check). The scores stay in your history; the full PDF reports can be downloaded for about 24 hours.
  • We don't write your text to our logs, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Why we use it

  • To provide the service you asked for: rewriting, scoring, checking and saving your versions (performing our contract with you).
  • To take payments, give you the words or checks you paid for, and keep the records the law requires.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (our legitimate interest).
  • To email you about your account, like sign-in links and password resets. We don't send marketing email without your consent.

Who processes it

We share data only with the providers that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs:

  • Hosting and database providers, which store your account, usage records and uploaded files.
  • Our text-processing, AI-detection and Turnitin-checking providers, which receive the text or files you submit to them.
  • Whop, which processes payments and subscriptions.
  • Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it with advertisers. We may disclose data if the law requires it. Some providers process data outside your country; we rely on their standard safeguards for those transfers.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. If you start typing before you sign up, your draft is kept in your browser's storage so it's still there after you create an account. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Account details and usage records: for as long as you have an account.
  • Saved rewrites: until you delete your account. Rewrites made in Private mode aren't kept at all.
  • Turnitin files: deleted within about a day, as described above.
  • Payment records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, even after your account is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. To delete your account and its data, email support@unbotai.com from the address on your account and we'll do it within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Unbot AI isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and tell you by email if the change is significant. See also our terms of service and refund policy.
